It is known for its August bull runs — declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest — and as the starting point for the Asón River canoe descent, one of the classics of active tourism in Cantabria. The Asón flows through the municipality creating a riverside landscape of rapids and pools that make it an ideal river for canoeing and kayaking. Proximity to the Santoña Marshlands allows combining the river with kayak routes through the Natural Park channels.
