Context
The Soba Valley and the Asón River are part of the Natural Park of the Collados del Asón in Cantabria. The trail climbs about 200 meters over 7.5 km, offering a peaceful journey through a unique karst and fluvial landscape where water shapes the scenery.
The Experience
The hike begins in the village of Asón, following natural trails that pass through meadows and woodlands. The fresh scent of the damp forest accompanies the steady, calming sound of the Asón River. Hikers visit the river’s source, surrounded by native vegetation, and reach the Asón waterfall, which drops 70 meters and offers panoramic views of the valley and rocky formations. The path combines earth and stone sections, linking diverse natural environments.
