Why it stands out
- 01
Own working winery, not a franchise
The grapes you taste come from the 50 hectares visible from your window. The oenologist running the tasting is the one who signs the wines. It's not a hotel with a winery tour — it's a winery with a hotel.
- 02
Built-in vinotherapy spa, not an add-on
The thermal circuit uses pomace, grape-seed and vine-shoot extracts from the estate's own vines. Active pool, Roman baths, chocolate therapy. Unlimited access for hotel guests.
- 03
Certified low-yield organic farming
The 50 hectares work with fewer bunches per vine to concentrate fruit. It shows on the palate, not on a label: dense reds without heaviness, whites with a citrus tension uncommon in La Mancha.
- 04
One hour from Albacete, two from Madrid
Close enough for a Friday afternoon drive, far enough that no city noise reaches you. Good roads (A-30, A-31), free hotel parking.
Who it fits
Fits if: you're a couple or small group (2-6), interested in wine without being a sommelier, want to sleep where the wine is made, and enjoy the spa as part of the trip. Recommended age: 25-65.
Doesn't fit if: you travel with children (winery and tasting are adult experiences), seek active adventure or trekking (this is dry Manchuela, not the Picos), or need beach or city. For wine plus mountain see Liébana; for wine plus a classic spa town, see Cofrentes.

How to get there
Best season: spring (April-June) for green vineyards and mild temperatures; harvest (September) to see the cycle in action; autumn (October-November) for copper foliage. Summer brings dry heat (95°F+); winter is meseta-cold but the spa makes up for it.
Getting there: car essential. Albacete is 50 minutes via A-30; Madrid 2h45 via A-3 + A-31; Alicante 1h45 via A-31.
Gear: comfortable flat shoes (uneven winery floors), a layer even in summer (barrel rooms sit at 14°C / 57°F), swimwear for the spa.
Booking: 2-3 weeks ahead; harvest and long weekends fill earlier. Restaurant requires reservation.
Recommendations
Arrive before 6pm for a first walk through the vineyard at golden hour. Book the private paired tasting if your budget allows — the difference from the group version is noticeable. If you come during harvest (second half of September), ask to see the manual selection table. Lamb on the restaurant menu comes from nearby Manchuela flocks and is traceable. For the spa, request the vine-shoot vinotherapy: it's the house signature.
