Aquí hizo construir su "capricho", que sería un jardín con espacios temáticos, donde los duques pudieran divertirse. Por eso, encontramos diferentes construcciones en el parque: Un laberinto. Un casino. Un fortín. Las ruinas de un castillo. Una ermita bizantina. La "casa de la vieja". Actualmente, el parque ocupa 14 hectáreas, donde podemos encontrar jardines de estilo inglés e italiano (creados por Jean-Baptiste Mulot). El agua es un elemento fundamental en el Capricho. Se hizo hasta un embarcadero, un estanque y una ría artificial. En este lugar, trabajaron grandes artistas de la época, como Goya (pintando El Columpio o La Pradera de San Isidro) o Boccherini, el compositor.
