The hike to the Caballo Lighthouse is one of the most famous routes in Cantabria. It starts from Monte Buciero in Santoña and descends 763 steps carved into the rock to reach the lighthouse, built in 1863 on the cliffs. The descent offers spectacular views of the Cantabrian Sea, vertical cliffs and the mountain vegetation. The return is via the same path (demanding climb). It can be combined with a visit to the Pescador Lighthouse on a longer circular Monte Buciero route.
