A short, fun canyon perfect for a family first Chorretones gorge, in the municipality of Galdames (Bizkaia), is one of the most rewarding descents for those starting out in canyoning with children or as a family group. The route is shorter than most canyons in the area, which means you can complete it with energy to spare and enjoy every section without rushing. Gentle slides, a few water jumps and one or two rappels give the day structure without adding technical difficulty.

The activity The guide runs an initial briefing on how to use the harness, abseil device and in-water safety rules. The group then enters the canyon in full wetsuits: the river sets the route through pools, rock steps and enclosed sections that follow each other at a good pace.
