Discover Teruel

Teruel combines the most varied canyoning conditions in Aragon with an active climbing scene and a greenway network crossing the province's interior. The Maestrazgo has limestone canyons such as the Río Guadalope gorge and Parrizal de Beceite, where travertine walls form turquoise pools that groups descend end-to-end. Water temperature exceeds 17 °C in summer, exceptional for the meseta. The Val de Zafán greenway covers 120 km between Puebla de Híjar and Tortosa (Tarragona): one of the longest cycle routes on the Peninsula, with restored tunnels of up to 1.8 km. For climbing, the Gúdar-Javalambre sierra walls and the Villanueva de Huerva area have sectors from 4a to 8b. Javalambre peak reaches 2,020 m with ski runs accessible from Valencia in 90 minutes. The province's geological context is Aragon's most striking: the dinosaur sites of the Red Aragonesa shape the landscape of Maestrazgo hiking routes.
