Who this fits

With friends Adventure Ecotourism Disconnection Local Life
A fit if you have MTB endurance, at least one season of riding, are comfortable with a GPS, and prefer setting your own pace over riding in a group. Not a fit if you've never done multi-day routes, if managing unexpected hiccups solo makes you uneasy, or if you're after technical single-track downhill: this is MTB touring with serious climbs, not enduro.

Frequently asked

Got a question not listed here? Just ask.

Do I need prior multi-day MTB experience?
Yes. You don't need to have done an identical traverse, but you should have ridden mountain routes at least 4-5 hours in a row and be comfortable handling the bike on tracks and flowy trails. The route isn't technical, but the daily climbs are serious.
What happens if it rains or storms?
Val d'Aran is the rainiest corner of the Pyrenees: bring waterproofs. If the forecast is very bad, the 24-h support team helps you reorganise the stage (shorten, swap a section or rest a day). Insurance covers incidents.
Can I rent the bike in Vielha?
Yes, several shops offer daily MTB rental. It is not included in the package price but you'll get pointers during the briefing. Book ahead in July and August.
Does the route cross Port de la Bonaigua?
The classic Era Roda circuit approaches the Bonaigua area but turns back without topping the pass at 2,072 m. You can agree a variant that does cross it if your legs and the weather hold.
Is it suitable as a couple or with one friend?
Yes, one of the favourite formats. The package's max group size is 6, so small groups of friends with similar fitness also fit perfectly.
