Andalusia brings together very different settings for cycling: from Spain's largest protected natural area to the country's most extensive cork oak forest. In between, the Vía Verde del Aceite covers 128 km along the old "Tren del Aceite" railway line, which connected the olive-growing regions of Jaén and Córdoba. These are the areas where Picuco organises guided mountain bike or electric bike excursions.

Vía Verde del Aceite: 128 km of greenway on an electric bike

The Vía Verde del Aceite is a signalled, safe, and accessible 128 km route. It starts in Jaén, near the Las Fuentezuelas sports centre, and ends at the Campo Real station, next to some car parks. Along the route, you will find 13 metal viaducts, 3 tunnels, 6 walkways over roads, 45 rest areas, 13 parking areas, 7 motorhome areas, and numerous fountains.

It is a comfortable route to do with electric assistance, and Picuco organises the Electric bike on the Vía Verde del Aceite, Córdoba so that you only have to worry about pedalling. Bring water and sun protection: although there are fountains, the stretches between rest points can be long.

The Parque Natural Los Alcornocales has the most extensive cork oak forest in Spain. It is spread between the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga, with Alcalá de los Gazules (Cádiz) as one of its reference municipalities, and it covers 167,767 ha. La Axarquía: electric MTB route between mountains and the coast

La Axarquía, whose exact name is Axarquía-Costa del Sol, combines inland villages surrounded by mountains with coastal towns and their beaches and coves. It covers 1028 km² and holds a monumental heritage ranging from treasures from the Arabic era to buildings from different centuries in the inland area. It is an ideal territory for an electric bike: you climb without suffering and descend towards the sea.

Picuco organises the Electric MTB route through La Axarquía in Málaga to link those two worlds in a single day. Bring comfortable footwear and some warm clothing if you go outside of summer: the altitude of the inland villages changes the weather.

Sierra de Almijara: Guided MTB tour between Granada and Málaga

The Sierra de Almijara is divided between the provinces of Granada and Málaga, in Andalusia. Its easternmost part is known locally as Sierra de Nerja, and the presence of Iberian ibex stands out on its slopes.

Picuco organises the Guided mountain bike tour in Sierra de Almijara, Granada to travel these paths safely and without getting lost. Check the weather forecast before heading out and carry enough water: at altitude, weather changes are rapid.

Genil River in Sierra Nevada: electric bike tour by the river

The Genil is born in Sierra Nevada, in the province of Granada, and is the second longest river in Andalusia and the seventh in the Iberian Peninsula. Following its course on an electric bike allows you to combine mountain landscapes with water. Picuco organises the Electric bike tour through Sierra Nevada and Genil river to do it with a guide.

Book well in advance during the snow season or intense heat, and wear layers of clothing: the altitude dictates the day's weather.
