Description

Orinon Beach is a wide 1,100-metre sandy stretch at the mouth of the Aguera estuary, on the far eastern edge of Cantabria. The beach forms a cove where river meets sea, creating a landscape of golden sand flanked by green hills.

The village of Orinon, belonging to the municipality of Castro-Urdiales, retains a rural character with stone houses and a handful of restaurants specialising in fresh fish. In summer it is a popular family destination but without the crowds of neighbouring beaches.

From Orinon, trails lead to the Devil's Eyes and Sonabia Beach, making it an ideal base for exploring the wildest stretch of the Cantabrian coast.
