Mouro Island Lighthouse

Description

The Mouro Island Lighthouse (1860) is the Bay of Santander's most iconic symbol: a small stone lighthouse on a rocky islet at the bay mouth. Visible from El Sardinero, Magdalena and the bay ferries, it stars in Santander's most photographed image, especially when winter storms send waves crashing over its lantern. Not open to visitors, but can be circled by kayak or seen close up on Los Reginas boat tours.
