Description

Berria Beach is Santoña's main beach, nearly 2 kilometres of fine sand connecting the town with Monte Buciero. Its north-facing orientation and exposure to Atlantic swell make it one of the best surf beaches in the area, with more consistent waves than neighbouring La Salvé in Laredo.

The beach forms the natural tombolo linking the Buciero peninsula to the mainland, a distinctive geological feature. Monte Buciero's cliffs close off the beach, creating a spectacular landscape. It is the starting point for the trails to Faro del Caballo.

Lifeguard services operate in summer, with ample parking and direct access from Santoña. Less crowded than La Salvé, it attracts surfers, families and hikers combining beach and mountain in the same day.
