What you'll experience

Welcome and basic technique

Meet at 9 am in Llanos del Hospital. Group introduction and technical poles handed out. First nordic walking session: posture, arm push, stride opening. Short meadow walk to settle the technique. Free afternoon in Benasque to discover the village and rest.
Long route and lunch at La Renclusa

Morning technical session and route to La Renclusa refuge (1,140 m, at the foot of Aneto), combining learning with the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park landscape. Lunch at the refuge. Afternoon second technique-tuning session before descending. Free dinner in Benasque.
Video correction and farewell

Final session with individual video recording and personalised feedback. Review of the key points (posture, push phase, coordination). Handout of practice material to keep working at home. Group farewell at noon in Llanos del Hospital.

The heart of the retreat: three progressive sessions with a certified instructor following the INWA technique. Technical poles included, Sunday video recording for corrections, accident and public liability insurance.

Transfers

Arrival by own car or shuttle

Benasque is 220 km from Zaragoza and 320 km from Barcelona. The natural choice is to come by car for the flexibility to drive up to Llanos del Hospital (12 km from the village). If you arrive by train, we'll help arrange the transfer.

Saturday lunch at La Renclusa refuge

Homemade lunch at La Renclusa refuge (1,140 m), at the foot of Aneto. Mountain menu designed to recover after the morning technical session: first course, main, dessert, drink and coffee.

Technical nordic walking poles + practice material

Technical nordic walking poles during the three sessions (not trekking poles: they have specific straps and grips). After the course you get practice material to keep working at home.

Not a fit if you're after hard high-altitude trekking, peak-bagging, or if a day with two technical sessions plus a route feels too light. Also skip it if walking in a group of 8-10 isn't your thing.

Do I need previous nordic walking experience?

No. The course starts from scratch and progresses with structured technical sessions. If you have some background, the instructor refines your technique with video.

Are poles included?

Yes, technical poles during the course. If you get hooked, there are shops in Benasque to buy your own afterwards.

Is accommodation included?

No. You'll find rural hotels and apartments in Benasque village (12 km from the meeting point). We help you choose at booking.

What's the physical level?

Basic. 3-4 h walks with moderate elevation. It's not hard trekking and there are no summits.

What if it rains?

We go out anyway with proper gear, unless a serious storm. The instructor decides; in that case the session is rearranged.
