The Navarrese canyon for improving your technique Lizebar gorge, near Lekunberri in Atlantic Navarra, is considered one of the best Level II canyons for those who already have a grounding in canyoning and want to sharpen their skills. The route presents a varied sequence of obstacles — rappels of different lengths and orientations, progressive jumps and swimming sections — that tests technical precision without reaching Level III extremes.

The activity The day lasts between 4 and 5 hours. The guide uses the technical sections to work on rappel posture, water entry and descent speed control. Unlike beginner canyons, here there is real skills improvement: the group leaves with concrete tools to tackle more demanding canyons. Lizebar's river setting, surrounded by Atlantic forest in the Larraun basin, adds scenic quality to the whole experience.

The oceanic climate and abundant rainfall guarantee a constant flow in local rivers, making Larraun one of the most active areas for canyoning in Navarra throughout the year. The oak and beech forests surrounding Lizebar are among the best preserved in the western Navarrese Pyrenees.
