Discover Trillo

Trillo is a town in Guadalajara known as the "village of five waterfalls". The River Cifuentes descends through the town centre forming cascades that can be explored via walkways and waymarked paths. The Cifuentes waterfall by the medieval bridge is the most spectacular. During the Peninsular War, Trillo was the scene of a heroic resistance against Napoleonic troops, an episode remembered in local place names and festivals. The town preserves a pleasant old quarter with the parish church and cobblestone streets. Trillo is the northern gateway to the Entrepeñas reservoir and a starting point for routes through the Alcarria. The surroundings offer hiking through the Tagus river gorges and the nearby Monsalud Monastery in Córcoles.
