Description

The Route of the Faces is an open-air museum in the pine forest of Buendía (Cuenca), beside the Buendía reservoir. A 2.5 km trail passes sculptures and bas-reliefs carved directly into the forest rocks by artists including Eulogio Reguillo and Jorge Maldonado since 1992.

The 18 works include giant faces, mythological figures, crosses and esoteric symbols integrated into the landscape of pines and sandstone rocks. It is a magical walk, very easy and suitable for all the family, combining art, nature and the Buendía reservoir in the background.

The route is free and takes 1-1.5 hours. It is 38 km from Pareja and combines well with the Hermitage of the Desamparados Route (12 km, easy).
