The Reference Technical Descent in the Catalan Pyrenees

The full Núria canyon is the most demanding and complete descent of the gorge. Unlike the beginner lower section, the integral covers the full canyon from higher elevations, including rappels up to 18m on granite walls, unique rock slides and mandatory sumps.

Level & Requirements

Advanced level. Prior completion of at least one intermediate-level canyon descent required. Participants must have experience and good physical fitness. Not suitable for beginners.

The Route

Full Núria gorge descent with granite rappels, long natural slides, sumps and deep pools in a car-free environment. Duration: approximately 6 hours including approach.

**Gorges de Núria Integral** is the complete descent of one of the jewels of Pyrenean canyoning, from Queralbs to the valley floor. This full traverse combines the lower and upper gorge sections in an intense full day, with aerial rappels up to 18 metres, natural slides, waterfalls and technical passages requiring intermediate-to-advanced level. **The route** is significantly more demanding than the lower section: higher rappels, more technical passages and greater physical demands. Prior canyoning or similar mountain activity experience is required. **Practical info**: Meeting point in Queralbs. Full technical equipment included. Minimum age 16. Good fitness and prior experience required.
