Forat Negre, on the Riera de Saldes, is Berguedà's most popular canyoning descent. The 4-hour beginner route combines rappels, jumps and slides in a spectacular setting beneath Pedraforca.

The Route

The gorge alternates emerald pools with vertical rappel sections, optional jumps and swimming pools. Progressive difficulty makes it ideal for first-timers — no prior experience needed. Guides explain techniques at the start and adapt to each group.

Season and Conditions

Spring is best for adults: higher flow makes the experience more intense. Summer is more comfortable for families with children, with warmer water and moderate flow. Optimal season: spring to summer.
