What you'll experience

  1. Entrance to the massif

    Meeting with the guide, equipment check and first day getting acquainted with the access valleys, gaining altitude among meadows and holly forests to reach the accommodation.

  2. Heart of the Ubiñas

    High-mountain day along the massif’s ridge, with limestone crests, passes and views of the great walls. A demanding stage and one of the most spectacular of the crossing.

  3. Summit day

    Attempt to summit Peña Ubiña (2,417 m) or another peak in the massif, depending on conditions and the group’s state. The guide decides the safest and most beautiful objective for the day.

  4. Descent and farewell

    Final stage descending through valleys and shepherd trails to the starting point, with time to say goodbye to the group.

What level of experience do you need for this trip?
A high level. It’s high mountain terrain with long days, significant elevation gain and technical sections. You need prior experience and good physical condition.
Is it safe to reach the summit of Peña Ubiña?
The summit is the goal for the third day, but it always depends on weather conditions and the group’s condition. The guide prioritizes safety and may suggest an alternative peak.
Where do you sleep?
Accommodation in the mountains with full board for three nights (breakfast and dinner included). The exact location will be confirmed upon booking.
What exactly does the price include?
AEGM-UIMLA guide during the four days, three nights of accommodation, three full board pensions, map of the Macizo de las Ubiñas and collective safety equipment.
When is the best time to go?
From June to October, when the snow has disappeared from most of the peaks. Outside of that period the terrain may require winter equipment and technique.
