Frequently asked

Got a question not listed here? Just ask.

What makes this trek ‘cultural’?
Each stage combines hiking with rural heritage: royal paths, *teito*-roofed cattle shelters, granaries and mountain villages. The guide will tell you the history of the transhumant herdsmen and the livestock life in the valleys.
Do you change accommodations every night?
Yes, the journey links three parks, so you sleep in different towns and shelters. Internal transfers between valleys are included: you just walk.
What level of fitness do I need?
Moderate level. Stages of 4 to 6 hours with elevation gain, six days in a row. No technique required, but you do need to be fit enough for daily walking. The pace includes cultural stops.
When is the best time to go?
From June to October. Autumn is especially recommended: fewer crowds, better prices and the beech forests tinged with copper.
