Arrival in Relleu/Polop

Check-in to bungalow or rural house, briefing with the guide about the weekend plan and dinner with baked rice or Sella gazpacho.
Figueret Rock

Approach and ascent 3-4 hours. Two suspension bridges and a final zip line, the longest in Valencia. Lunch in Sella. Free afternoon for swimming in El Albir or a walk to Guadalest castle.
The Ponoig at dawn

Departure at 7:00 AM to climb El Ponoig (400 m, 3-4 h) with shade. View of the Mediterranean from the summit. Lunch in Polop and return.

Fits if you've done at least one K3 via ferrata with a guide and want two K3-K4 tests in a weekend, based inland with sea at sunset. Ideal for fit couples or friends.

Doesn't fit for ferrata first-timers (start easier), kids under 14 or pure-beach plans. October-May only — summer makes the wall too hot.

Is this suitable as a first via ferrata?

Penya del Figueret and El Ponoig are K3-K4 with overhangs and exposure. It is essential to have previously completed at least one K2/K3 ferrata with a guide.

How long is each via ferrata?

Penya del Figueret 2-3 hours with a guide; El Ponoig 3 hours. Add 30-45 minutes approach time to each.

Is car rental available at the airport?

Yes, great deal in Alicante-Elche. Essential for getting around between Relleu, Polop and the coast.

Can it be combined with a beach stay?

Yes: descent to El Albir, Altea or Benidorm 30 min by car after the via ferrata. In winter the sea is cold but the walk is worth it.
