What you'll experience

Pickup and ascent to the cabin

Arrival in Moreda. Pickup by host. 4x4 climb to the cabin (30 min). Briefing and light dinner by the fireplace.
Beech forest, wildlife and stars

Morning: 8 km circular beech-forest route with biologist. Free afternoon or short walk. Asturian dinner. Night: telescope astronomy session (1h30).
Descent and breakfast at the cider house

Late breakfast at the cabin. Descent with host. Optional fabada at a cider house before departure. Leave around 2 PM.

Lodging

Traditional cabin for 2-4 people

2 nights in a slate-and-wood cabin, fireplace, full bathroom. In forest or alpine meadow, no neighbours. Access via village pickup.

Transfers

4x4 pickup from village

Host meets you in Moreda or Cabañaquinta and drives the last 5-10 km of forest track. Drops you back on Sunday.

Meals

Asturian dinner by the fireplace

Dinner cooked by the host with fabada with compango, Cabrales cheese, baked apple. Natural cider poured the traditional way. Sunday homemade breakfast.

Hike with wildlife biologist

8 km circular through Tellao beech forest with certified mountain and biology guide. Track interpretation, birding by ear, beech-forest ecology. 5h.
Starlight astronomy session

1h30 with certified astronomy guide and professional telescope. Milky Way, planets, Moon and deep sky. UNESCO-FAS Starlight Reserve.

Doesn't fit if you need stable wifi, expect 24/7 mobile coverage, travel with infants (the cabin isn't a family resort) or want nightlife. The cabin is built for silence.

Does the cabin have an indoor bathroom?

Yes, all our cabins have a hot shower and toilet inside. The kitchen is basic (hob, microwave, fridge) but enough. Some have fireplaces and/or wood stoves.

How many people fit?

2 to 4 depending on the cabin. If more, let's talk: there are options for two neighbouring cabins or cabin + village rural house.

What if it's cloudy for stargazing?

The guide tracks the forecast and proposes alternatives on Saturday night (themed dinner, talk on nocturnal wildlife, sky reading when possible) or reschedules to Sunday if you stay an extra day.

Can I bring my dog?

Depends on the specific cabin. We have pet-friendly options but not all. Ask us when booking.
