Recópolis Archaeological Park

The Recópolis Archaeological Park preserves the remains of a Visigothic city founded in 578 AD by King Leovigildo, located in the municipality of Zorita de los Canes, Guadalajara. It is the only newly founded city built by the Visigoths in Europe, making it a key reference for studying this historical period. The city was designed as a political and administrative center, with an urban layout reflecting the organization and power of the Visigothic monarchy.

As you explore the park, you can see remnants of walls, public buildings, houses, and the foundation of a Visigothic basilica.
