Bicycle rental is the most flexible way to explore a city or natural environment on two wheels. Without needing to transport your own bike, you can pick up a bicycle at your destination and return it when you're done—rent by the hour, for a full day, or even for several weeks. In Spain, the range of bicycle rental covers every type: urban bikes for city touring, road bikes for cycling tourism and sport cycling, mountain bikes for trails and mountain routes, gravel bikes for mixed terrain, and e-bikes (electric bikes) for those who want to pedal with ease. The most bike-friendly cities include Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, San Sebastián, Palma de Mallorca and Madrid, all with well-developed cycle lane networks. In tourist areas such as Mallorca, Formentera, the Costa Brava and the Canary Islands, bike rental is one of the most popular activities. Most rental shops provide a helmet, lock, repair kit, and in many cases, GPS tracks with recommended routes. Some also include insurance and roadside assistance. Prices range from €8–15 per day for an urban bike, up to €40–80 per day for a high-end road bike or eMTB.
