Context
Gallina Pelada, also known as Cap de Llitzet, is the highest peak in the Sierra de Ensija, standing at 2,321 meters. Located in the Catalan Pyrenees, this mountain offers a less-crowded vantage point with panoramic views of the Pedraforca, Sierra del Cadí-Moixeró, and Rasos de Peguera. The route covers 12 km with 810 meters of elevation gain, passing through pine forests and ravines, with marked trails crossing sedimentary rock formations.

The day begins at the Font Freda parking area, where hikers follow the Barranco de les Llobateres, breathing in the fresh scent of pine and listening to the sound of water in the streams. A pause is made at the Creu de Ferro to admire the landscape and recover strength. After resting at the Delgado Úbeda refuge, hikers tackle the final stretch to the summit, where wind carries the aroma of thyme and views open across the entire Catalan Pyrenees. The descent completes this demanding route, lasting between 6 to 7 hours.
