Description

Two rivers, one great route in the Belagua Valley The Jordán-Arrako descent is a special day out: it combines two different river sections within the same itinerary, creating a variety of environments, techniques and landscapes not found in a conventional canyon. Belagua Valley, in the far north of Navarra near the French border, offers one of the most impressive high-mountain settings in the Pyrenees for canyoning.

The activity The 4-6 hour route begins with the approach on foot to the first section, the Jordán, where the descent starts with intermediate-level techniques: medium-height rappels, more demanding jumps and enclosed sections with current. After the Jordán the group connects with the Arrako section, which adds a different character to the whole — more open in some stretches, more technical in others — through to the exit. The combination of two rivers demands good physical fitness and confidence in the water.

Who can do it Minimum age 12. Having done at least one Level I canyon beforehand is recommended, or having good fitness and no fear of water. Guides assess the group level on the approach and adapt the pace accordingly.
