Low effort. Gentle walks along vineyard paths, suitable for walking children. Not recommended for reduced mobility without prior arrangement; rural paths are not always paved.
How to get there
When: year-round; harvest (September) is the most spectacular time for kids. Getting there: 45 min by car from Barcelona via AP-7/A-2; Rodalies train to Vilafranca del Penedès. Ages: most family visits accept children from age 3; some wineries (Rovellats) recommend 6+. Booking: advance booking essential, family visits have limited places.
Recommendations
Bring comfortable shoes and a cap: much of the visit is outdoors among the vines. Pair the family tasting with a country breakfast or a theatrical winery visit to fill the day. Vilafranca del Penedès has a good market and the VINSEUM (wine museum) to round off the day.

Frequently asked questions
From what age can children attend?
Most family visits accept children from age 3, with an adapted grape-must tasting. Some wineries such as Rovellats recommend ages 6 and up. It's always best to confirm when booking.
What do kids do while the adults taste?
They taste sweet grape musts, walk the vineyard learning how grapes grow and, on some estates, meet the animals. The visit is built for them to take part, not to wait.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, family visits have limited places and availability isn't guaranteed without a reservation. We help you line up the winery, time slot and the children's ages.
When is the best time to visit with kids?
Year-round works, but the September harvest is the most spectacular: children watch the grapes being picked and, at some wineries, join in the grape-stomping.
