Fishing
Sport fishing in Spain: guided trips in rivers, reservoirs and sea. Charter, gear included and catch and release for all levels.
About Fishing
Sport and recreational fishing is practiced as a guided outing: a professional takes the angler to known spots, provides the gear, and teaches the proper technique for the species and time of year. It is an activity enjoyed both for the catch and the time spent on the water, catering to everyone from those who have never held a rod to those seeking a specific prize.
There are three main settings. In rivers and streams, salmonids and cyprinids are fished using techniques like fly fishing or spinning, almost always in catch-and-release mode. In reservoirs, species such as black bass or pike are sought, often from a boat. And at sea, charters go out for trolling, bottom fishing, or jigging depending on the coast, the season, and the target species.
The guided outing handles the administrative and logistical side: the regional license, fishing permit when required by the stretch, rods, lures, and the boat. The guide knows the closed seasons, quotas, and minimum sizes, which vary by autonomous community and species, and adapts the trip to the group's level.
More and more outings are done in catch-and-release mode, returning the fish to the water with minimal damage. It is the standard practice in many river stretches and what allows populations to be maintained. The season depends entirely on the species and the regulations of each community.
