About Water Skiing
Water skiing is a classic sport involving sliding across the water on one or two skis while being towed by a motorboat. The thrill of speed, the spray of water, and the adrenaline of maintaining balance make this a highly exciting experience.
Beginner lessons teach you how to get up from the water (the most challenging part), how to maintain the correct stance, and how to glide steadily behind the boat. Most beginners manage to stand up and ski within the first or second session. More advanced skiers can practice slalom (using a single ski), jumps, and tricks.
Water skiing takes place in reservoirs, lakes, and sheltered bays where the water is calm. The most popular destinations in Spain include reservoirs in the central peninsula, the bays of the Balearic Islands, artificial lakes in Andalusia, and cable parks that also offer this activity.
Sessions include a boat with an experienced driver, full equipment (skis, life jacket, tow rope), and in many cases, an instructor on board. Suitable from age 8–10. The main season runs from May to October.
