Santa Cilia, in the Huesca Jacetania, is home to one of the reference airfields for flight in the Pirineo, in the Aragón river valley near Jaca. From the air, the Pirineo aragonés unfolds in its full scale: the ridges of Peña Oroel and San Juan de la Peña, the valleys of Hecho, Ansó, and Tena, and in the background the three-thousand-meter peaks of Aneto, Monte Perdido, and Collarada. It is a mountain area with ski resorts, hiking, and Romanesque heritage. It is accessible via the A-23 from Huesca and Pamplona, less than an hour from Jaca.
