Context Sima Simarro is a natural cave located in the Serra del Menejador, within the Parque Natural de la Font Roja in Alcoy, Alicante. ¿Quieres descubrir un fascinante mundo que se esconde en las cuevas subterráneas? Ven a nuestra ruta de espeleología en Alicante. Se trata de la Sima Simarro, en el Parque Natural del Carrascal de la Fuente Roja, dentro del entorno de Alcoy e Ibi. Esta sesión de espeleología es de nivel medio, puesto que tiene algunos pasos algo técnicos. Además, recuerda traer botas o calzado deportivo, (las chanclas y los zapatos de río no valen). La cueva está debajo de la montaña del Menejador, y es por las lluvias que caen en sus laderas que el agua se ha ido filtrando a lo largo de cientos de años para dar forma a las rocas que encontramos en su interior. En la aproximación, que nos lleva aproximadamente 60 minutos, pasamos por dos neveros artificiales, el pozo de Sirvent y el de Simarro. Para transitar por el interior de la cueva utilizaremos técnicas de espeleología diferentes: desde arrastrarnos hasta destrepar, pasando por algunas técnicas con cuerda para descender por las simas.  En nuestra ruta en el interior de las montañas tendremos la oportunidad de ver de primera mano los elementos que componen las cuevas y que la naturaleza ha ido creando durante siglos, como las espectaculares columnas, estalagmitas y estalactitas o banderolas. Sin olvidarnos, por supuesto, de las famosas estalactitas excéntricas. ¡Ven a conocer las entrañas de Alicante recorriendo la sima Simarro!
