Context El Chullo, at 2,612 meters, is the highest peak in Almería, located in the Penibetic mountain range within the Sierra Nevada. The route begins at Puerto de La Ragua and ascends 688 meters over approximately 16 kilometers, passing through pine forests and rocky ridges. The wind carries the scent of thyme and brings fresh, high-altitude air.

The Experience The hike begins at Puerto de La Ragua with a group briefing and guide introduction. The trail follows forest paths and marked trails toward Lagunilla Seca, passing the windy ridge of Morrón del Chullo, where wind and air sounds accompany the climb. At the summit, hikers enjoy expansive views of villages such as Ferreira and Dólar, with the Mediterranean Sea visible in the distance. The descent follows a circular route, completing a full-day journey lasting approximately five hours.

Descubre todo lo que encierran sus paisajes ascendentes con esta subida a el lugar conocido como El Chullo, caracterizado por ser el pico almeriense de más altitud. Tras comentar los rasgos principales de la ruta, tomaremos nuestras mochilas con lo imprescidible para pasar el día, y pondremos rumbo a nuestro destino. Seguiremos para alcanzarlo al guía, conocedor excelente de éste y otros puntos por los que iremos pasando. Preguntadle lo que queráis para satisfacer todas vuestras curiosidades. Será un itinerario que nos llevará en total alrededor de 5 horas, siendo conscientes de que el ritmo para alcanzar la meta lo marcamos los propios componentes del grupo. La noche la pasaremos en una bonita Villa en la misma provincia y tendremos desayuno para comenzar el día posterior.
