Context
The Natural Park Laguna Negra and Glacial Cirques of Urbión, located in Soria, is a protected area combining glacial lakes, forests of wild pine, and mountain peaks exceeding 2,200 meters. The route climbs 538 meters over a distance of 8 to 13 kilometers, depending on the chosen path, and stands out for its well-marked trails and alpine landscape. The Experience
The hike begins at the regulated parking lot at Paso de la Serrá, where the guide provides an orientation and safety tips. You follow forest trails toward Laguna Negra, a dark lake surrounded by local legends and echoing silence. The path continues upward toward Pico Urbión, crossing alpine meadows and rocky zones, until reaching the summit at 2,214 meters. From here, panoramic views stretch across the rugged mountain terrain. The descent includes a stop at the abandoned village of La Muedra, where the submerged church is visible in the nearby reservoir.
