Description

The Santa Pola Salt Flats Natural Park protects 2,470 hectares of Ramsar wetland between Santa Pola and Elche. It is one of the best flamingo-watching spots in the Valencian Community, with colonies of up to 8,000 birds between April and August, plus over 170 bird species year-round.

Trails are flat and accessible, with free-access elevated birdwatching hides. The salt works have been active since 1900, producing sea salt in a unique symbiosis of industry and nature. The park's information centre at the Salt Museum offers guided walks.
