Description

Barnejo Beach (also known as Berellin) is a small white-sand cove wedged between karst rock formations in the municipality of Val de San Vicente, near the village of Prellezo. Its 300-metre pedestrian access from the car park helps keep occupancy low even in summer.

The limestone rocks flanking the beach create a landscape of cliffs and natural arches that make it one of the most photogenic beaches on the western Cantabrian coast. The water is crystal clear and the sand fine, though surf can be strong.

The cove is part of the coastal stretch between San Vicente de la Barquera and Pesues, where wild beaches, cliffs and meadows alternate. From the car park, a coastal path connects to other coves and viewpoints in the area.
