Context
Doñana National Park in Huelva is one of Europe’s most significant natural areas due to its exceptional biodiversity. It hosts diverse ecosystems including dehesas, marshlands, and open woodlands, where iconic species such as the Iberian lynx and imperial eagle coexist. This safari provides exclusive access to the private Coto del Rey estate, a restricted zone where these animals are observed more frequently. The route gently ascends across grasslands and scrubland, covering distances exceeding 50 km by vehicle.
The experience
You’ll take part in a guided 4x4 safari that travels through Doñana’s varied ecosystems. The wind carries scents of thyme and damp earth as you drive along trails beneath cork oaks and holm oaks. Your guide provides binoculars and telescopes to observe the imperial eagle’s majestic flight, and, with luck, catch a rare glimpse of the elusive Iberian lynx on private land. Stops are scheduled for light walks and wildlife observation, including deer and wild boar.
For whom
This activity is ideal for nature enthusiasts and photographers seeking to witness native Iberian wildlife and raptors. Moderate mobility is required for short walks and extended time in a 4x4 vehicle. Not recommended for individuals with severe mobility limitations or for very young children without prior outdoor experience.
