Context
Iberian lynx wildlife watching in Sierra de Andújar takes place within one of the few remaining natural refuges for this critically endangered feline. The 187,000-hectare Sierra de Andújar Natural Park features a Mediterranean woodland ecosystem where the lynx finds both food and shelter. The route gently ascends through areas of holm oak and scrubland, where the air carries the scent of thyme and rosemary.
The experience
Participants join a guided tour combining low-speed 4x4 travel with light walking. Stops are made at camouflaged photographic hides equipped with spy-view windows, allowing close-up observation and photography of lynx without disturbing them. The quiet of the forest is only broken by bird songs and wind rustling through leaves, creating a respectful and immersive atmosphere connected to wildlife.
For whom
This activity is ideal for nature lovers and wildlife photographers with moderate mobility, able to walk on uneven terrain and remain seated quietly for extended periods. It is not suitable for individuals with limited mobility or those unable to tolerate long silent waits.
Local context
