Context
Archery in Leioa takes place at a dedicated outdoor range with multiple targets, managed by the local association Arkulariak, which promotes the sport across Bizkaia using its own structured teaching methodology. The facility is located in an open-air sports complex, easily reachable from Bilbao, where the breeze carries the fresh scent of grass and wood. This natural setting enhances focus and connection with the environment.
The experience
You’ll take part in a guided session where you’ll learn essential archery techniques: proper stance, bow handling, and aiming. Under the supervision of qualified instructors, you’ll practice with provided bows and arrows, aiming at various targets as the sharp snap of the bowstring echoes with each shot. The session lasts between 2 and 3.5 hours, tailored for children from age 6 and adults.
For whom
This activity is ideal for complete beginners, families with children aged 6 and up, and school groups. It requires light physical activity and is not recommended for individuals with very limited mobility unless adapted equipment is available, nor for those seeking high-intensity challenges.
