Discover Benamejí

Benamejí is a Córdoba municipality located at the southern tip of the Campiña comarca, on the border with the Subbética and along the banks of the River Genil. Its strategic position makes it a base for canyoning in the limestone gorges of the Córdoba Subbética, where sheer rock faces offer technical descents surrounded by Mediterranean flora. A few kilometres away, the Iznájar reservoir is one of the largest in Andalusia and the main destination for kayaking and canoeing in the area. The territory also follows the Vía Verde de la Subbética, a natural corridor adapted for cyclists and hikers along the old railway route through olive groves and holm oak woodland. Mountain bike trails cross landscapes of centuries-old olive trees typical of the Priego de Córdoba Protected Designation of Origin, while the banks of the Genil can be explored on foot with low-difficulty routes suitable for all the family.
