Description

Arnia Beach is the icon of Costa Quebrada and one of Cantabria's most photographed beaches. Its rock formations, known as urros, are vertical limestone blocks over 90 million years old that emerge from the sea as remnants of ancient reefs.

The 220-metre golden sand beach is framed by cliffs and marine abrasion platforms that reveal Upper Cretaceous geology. At sunset, the raking light on the urros creates an otherworldly landscape.

The beach is part of the Costa Quebrada Geopark, a UNESCO Global Geopark. A coastal path connects it with the beaches of Somocuevas and Covachos, allowing you to walk the most spectacular geological stretch of the Cantabrian coast.
