Context
The Ebro River in Cantabria features a stretch regulated by a dam, maintaining a consistent water flow throughout the summer months of June to September, with water temperatures ranging between 19°C and 22°C. This section, between Arroyo and Aldea del Ebro, lies in a remote, mountainous area with low tourist traffic, making it ideal for water-based activities. The gentle roar of water crashing against rocks enhances the immersive experience.
The Experience
You’ll take part in a guided canoe descent, equipped with a neoprene suit, helmet, and life jacket. Navigate through rapids, eddies, and small waterfalls created by the dam, always under the supervision of a qualified professional monitor who ensures safety and provides real-time navigation guidance. The activity lasts between 2 and 6 hours, depending on the chosen route and conditions, and includes a designated break for a picnic in a secure, natural setting. Feel the cool rush of the river and the powerful sound of flowing water as you glide through the valley.
For Whom
This activity is suitable for families with older children (minimum age to be confirmed with operator), groups of friends, and individuals with basic experience in water sports. Swimming ability is required, along with moderate physical fitness. Not recommended for those without swimming skills or for people with limited mobility unless adapted equipment is available.
