The experience A private guided visit, just for your group, with an official tourist guide from Soria. You are picked up at your accommodation, within the province, in a 4x4 with a glass roof, and the route heads up to Laguna Negra, in the Parque Natural Laguna Negra y Circos Glaciares de Urbión (Laguna Negra and Urbión Glacial Cirques Natural Park). There you walk around the lake with explanations of its glacial origin, its legends and Antonio Machado, who set La tierra de Alvargonzález there. Then you stop at Vinuesa, a village of Celtiberian origin, for a stroll around the town. The route ends where it started.

How to get to the lake On the busiest days (summer, autumn weekends and bank holidays) vehicle access is regulated: you park at Paso de la Serrá, 1.5 km from the lake, and the last stretch is done by shuttle bus or on foot, depending on the day. The rest of the year you drive up to the upper car park, next to the lake.

Laguna Negra is in the Parque Natural Laguna Negra y Circos Glaciares de Urbión, in the Pinares de Soria comarca, about 20 km from Vinuesa. It is a glacial lake at 1,753 m, surrounded by pine forest and rock walls. In the park there is the Casa del Parque, a visitor centre with information on the geology and wildlife of the area. Vinuesa, next to the Cuerda del Pozo reservoir, keeps the traditional manor houses of the Pinares comarca.

On the busiest days (summer, autumn weekends and bank holidays) vehicle access to Laguna Negra is regulated: the 4x4 stays in the Paso de la Serrá car park, 1.5 km from the lake, and the last stretch is done by shuttle bus or on foot, depending on the day. The rest of the year you drive up to the upper car park, next to the lake.
