What to do in Casarrubios del Monte

Casarrubios del Monte is a municipality in the Escalona comarca, in the southeast of Toledo province, set within the broad farmland separating the Sierra de Gredos from the River Tagus. The agricultural landscape of olive groves, cereal crops and dehesa provides the basis for mountain biking and cycle touring on flat or gently rolling terrain suitable for all profiles. The network of rural tracks and drovers' roads across the comarca is open to cyclists and hikers year-round. Equestrian tourism has a long-standing tradition in this area. The dehesas around Toledo contain several estates running horse riding programmes through holm oak groves and scrubland, with the Sierra de Gredos as a backdrop to the north.
