Cádiz offers a unique combination of nautical activities with Atlantic winds and nature routes in the Parque Natural Bahía de Cádiz. Valdelagrana beach (El Puerto de Santa María) and Los Lances beach (Tarifa, 100 km away) are two of the best kitesurfing spots in Europe, with Levante and Poniente winds blowing over 300 days a year. La Victoria beach and the Cádiz shoreline support surfing, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking in the bay. The Parque Natural Bahía de Cádiz (10,522 ha) concentrates salt marshes where over 200 bird species can be spotted.
The strong-wind season (Levante) runs from June to September, ideal for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Autumn and spring are calmer and perfect for sea kayaking and hiking through the marshes. Winter is mild (12–17 °C) and allows outdoor activities all year round. The A-4 connects Cádiz with Seville (120 km) and Madrid (640 km) via the motorway.
