Description

Territorio Artlanza is a full-scale medieval Castilian village recreated by artist Félix Yáñez on the outskirts of Quintanilla del Agua (Burgos). Since 2002, a single person has built streets, squares, churches, houses, a smithy, a tavern and even a castle using recycled materials and artisan techniques.

The result is a habitable ghost village of over 10,000 m² that seems straight out of the Middle Ages but is a work of contemporary art. The 18 constructions recreate traditional Castilian architecture with astonishing detail.

It can be visited with an entry fee (check times and prices on their website). The tour takes 1-2 hours. It is 40 km from Burgos, next to Covarrubias and La Yecla.
