Barceloneta Beach

La Playa de la Barceloneta is one of Barcelona's most famous urban beaches, located in the Ciutat Vella district next to the traditional fishing neighborhood that gives it its name. It stretches approximately 1.1 kilometers of fine golden sand, washed by the Mediterranean Sea. This public space is highly frequented by both locals and visitors, blending a beach atmosphere with close proximity to the city.

Historically, Barceloneta was built in the 18th century to house fishermen and port workers. Visiting Playa de la Barceloneta requires no reservation. Access is free and open year-round, although the high season coincides with summer months. The beach is accessible for people with reduced mobility, featuring walkways and adapted services.
