About Ultralight Aircraft

Light aircraft flights offer one of the purest and most thrilling flying experiences: piloting (or riding as co-pilot) a lightweight aircraft at low speed and altitude, feeling the wind and enjoying privileged panoramic views. Unlike a commercial aircraft, in a light aircraft you feel every air current and have near-total visibility of the landscape. There are two main types of light aircraft: fixed-wing light aircraft, similar to a small aeroplane with an open or enclosed cockpit, and pendular light aircraft (trike), featuring a delta-wing sail and a motorised carriage. Both offer different but equally spectacular flying experiences. The introductory flight is the most popular way to begin: a 15- to 45-minute flight with an experienced pilot who shows you the area from the air. In many cases, you can take control of the aircraft during part of the flight under supervision. For those who want to go further, light aircraft pilot training courses are available, leading to a pilot licence. Spain has dozens of airfields and light aircraft flying fields scattered across the country. The most popular destinations include central peninsular areas (fields in Castile), the Mediterranean coast, Andalusia and the valleys of the Pyrenees. Spain’s weather conditions, with many hours of sunshine and stable winds, make it an ideal destination for light aircraft flying.
