About Climbing Walls

Indoor climbing walls, or rocódromos, are facilities that allow you to practice climbing all year round, regardless of the weather. They feature artificial walls of varying heights, angles, and difficulty levels, equipped with coloured grips that mark the routes (bouldering problems and roped climbing routes). Spain has a growing network of rocódromos in major cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao, Málaga, and many more. Some are specialised in bouldering (walls up to 4.5 metres high, without ropes, with mats on the floor), while others offer sport climbing with ropes on walls ranging from 10 to 15 metres. Most rocódromos offer free climbing sessions, beginner classes, progressive courses, and targeted training programmes. No prior experience is needed: after just 1–2 hours of instruction, you’ll learn the basic techniques and be able to climb independently. Equipment such as climbing shoes, harnesses, and chalk can be rented on-site. Rocódromos are ideal for children's birthdays, corporate team building, unique dates, and regular training. Many centres also combine climbing with a café, functional training area, and co-working space.
