Airsoft

Airsoft is a tactical simulation activity where players engage in organised matches using replica weapons that fire 6 mm biodegradable plastic pellets. Unlike paintball, airsoft offers a much higher level of realism in both the replicas and gameplay, making it an immersive experience for fans of military strategy and tactical games. Airsoft matches take place in outdoor fields (woodlands, abandoned buildings, purpose-built facilities) with scenarios ranging from quick 15-minute skirmishes to multi-hour milsim (military simulations) featuring complex objectives, radio communications, and specialised team roles. Basic equipment includes an airsoft replica, ballistic safety goggles (mandatory), face mask, and appropriate clothing. Most fields offer full equipment rental packages for beginners. The impact of the pellets is noticeable but does not cause bruises like paintball, as kinetic energy is lower. Airsoft is popular for stag and hen parties, corporate team building, birthdays, and outings with friends. The minimum age is typically 14–16 years depending on the field. Spain has a vibrant airsoft community with fields located across all autonomous communities.
