Context
Cala Fustam, located on the southern coast of Menorca, is the island’s only beach where horse access is permitted all year. This private natural setting, far from urban developments, offers an authentic Mediterranean landscape of pine forests and trails bordered by dry stone walls known as paret seca. Pure air and the songs of birds accompany the journey, which begins at the Es Calafat farm, just a few kilometers from the town of Ferreries.
The Experience
The ride begins with horse and equipment assignment at the farm. The route mostly proceeds at a walk, with some sections at a gentle trot, along rural trails and Mediterranean pine woodlands. Upon reaching Cala Fustam, riders enjoy the sand and the chance to enter the sea, if conditions allow. The return journey is calm and peaceful, completing a circular route that allows participants to feel the texture of the sand and the fresh sea breeze.
For Whom
This activity is suitable for beginners aged 12 and older with good physical fitness, as well as experienced riders seeking a calm and safe route. It is not recommended for individuals over 50 years old without prior equestrian experience, nor for those exceeding 90 kg without prior notice.
